Despite the controversies, including lawsuits, surrounding Donald Trump, he seems determined to boost his chances of returning to the White House in 2024. And at any cost...
The latest scandal: a video...
On Friday 9 June, Donald Trump posted a promotional video on his Truth Social network profile with the aim of raising funds for the campaign.
... without copyrights
The video, which lasts just under two and a half minutes, combines current and archive images of Donald Trump, while a monologue can be heard in the background that could cause serious problems for the former president.
Because this monologue is a fragment of the film 'Air: The Big One '(2023). In it, Sonny Vaccaro, played by Matt Damon, tries to convince Michael Jordan to sign with Nike.
In search of immortality?
"Money can buy everything, but not immortality, you have to earn it," is the sentence with which the monologue begins.
The film was released in April 2023 and it is obvious that whoever edited this Donald Trump video did not take copyright into account.
As The Hollywood Reporter reports, both Matt Damon and director Ben Affleck have called the Republican nominee out on it.
They did this through their production company Artists Equity and released a clear and very concise statement about the explicit use of any elements in the film.
"We had no prior knowledge of, did not consent to, and do not condone any recordings or audio of 'Air: The Big One' being used by the Trump campaign as a political advertisement or for any other purpose," the statement reads.
